"News about him spread far beyond the borders of Galilee so that the sick
were soon coming to be healed from as far away as Syria. And whatever their
illness and pain, or if they were possessed by demons, or were epileptics, or
were paralyzed – he healed them all. Large crowds followed him wherever he went
– people from Galilee, the Ten Towns, Jerusalem, from all over Judea, and from
east of the Jordan River."
Matthew 4:24– 25
Everyone wants a piece of the supernatural, but very few want the truth. Many of us will travel miles and miles to receive a word of prophecy, but very few of us will sit with someone in spiritual authority and allow them to confront the sin in our lives.
During my quite time, as I opened one of my daily guides I immediately felt that I wasn't supposed to do that, I was to open the book, Pigs in the Parlor, by Frank & Ida Mae Hammond. Although I read this book over fifteen years ago, I need to read it again. There are definitely pigs in my parlor. What does that mean? It simply means that satanic forces have invaded my home. With Halloween approaching tomorrow, I felt it necessary to share a little about the possibility of the same forces in your home.
As we see in today's passage of scripture, Jesus dealt with demons. If He dealt with them, then you better believe we will deal with them now – and even more so. One of the truths the writer in the book shares is that Satan is a "trespasser." He defines this saying, "A trespasser is one who unlawfully and stealthily encroaches upon the territory of another." Do you have any trespassers in your home? We allow satanic forces into our homes through people, through certain music, and even through certain television shows. So, with Halloween coming it just might be a good idea to stand in authority and clean house.
How do we get rid of demons? First, we must confess any sin we have in our lives. We must clean ourselves up before we stand in the name of Jesus Christ. Yes, that is the second thing; in the authority and by the name of Jesus Christ we stand against the principalities that seek to steal, kill, and destroy anything or anybody that belongs to God.
Satan doesn't care about you, the people you love, or your home. He wants to mock God and he will do that in any way he can. So, let's make a choice to clean our homes and operate in deep, abiding love to any person that comes to our door this Halloween. Personally, I have learned that Satan can't stand the name of Jesus, praise music that glorifies Jesus, or love that comes from a sincere heart.
We'll talk a little more about this tomorrow!
Father, I ask that You begin right now to clean us up and give us the strength and wisdom to pray and stand against the enemy. Show us the way and help us stand firm, clothed in Your robe of righteousness, dressed in our armor, and ready to love anyone You send our way.
