HIS WAYS ARE DIFFERENT!

The Lord has said to me in the strongest terms: "Do not think like everyone else does. Do not be afraid that some plan conceived behind closed doors will be the end of you. Do not fear anything except the Lord Almighty. He alone is the Holy One. If you fear him, you need fear nothing else. He will keep you safe."
Isaiah 8:11-14a

Don't you just love reading scripture that makes you feel like God is speaking directly to you? I do, and that is how I felt when I read this one. Several years ago, I was going through a very dark period, I wasn't depressed; I simply felt the Lord was leading me down an unknown path and it seemed very dark. It turned out to be quite dark, but I learned volumes.

One thing I learned in that dark time is that God will often ask us to do things that aren't necessarily status quo; they go against reason. Well, that is nothing new. He asked Moses to go back to the town where he actually committed murder and convince the people that he was God's messenger for them and that he was going to take them to a land flowing with milk and honey. He did, they did, and close to forty years later some of them made it. Pretty good odds if you ask me. Well, Satan will use time and other things to convince us that God can't use us.

I am convinced that Satan does not want this to ministry to continue. Now I didn't come to that conclusion on my own. I sought the advice of people who have started ministries, some which are in ministry, and some pastoral people. They all agreed, this is of God and I am to listen to Him and Him alone. They also advised me that early on in many ministries the very first thing attacked is the finances! So, God whispered to me that I am not to be swayed by things that Satan throws at me. He established this ministry and He will see it through! Hallelujah!

One of the reasons I was so easily frightened is the same reason Moses' followers were frightened ¾ lack of fearing God. For a very long time I did not "fear" God. I mean I seriously was not afraid of Him; I am now. I do not want to be doing anything that is not according to His plan for my life or the lives of those who partner with me in ministry. However, because I have the history of being a "quitter," I feel God is testing my limitations. Now, He knows my limitations, but I don't. So, He is letting me see what kind of stuff I am made of ¾ inside out.

I now fear Him ¾ with both trembling and quiet reverence. I love Him. I want to please Him and I want other people to know Him like I do. Believe me, I've come a long way baby!

How about you? Are you at a place in your life where God is asking you to step out of your comfort zone and into His mysterious ways? Even with the tests and trials I've been through and am currently going through, I find His ways better than the "same ole' same ole'" ¾ I think you will too!

Father, thank You for walking with me and guiding me day by day. I thank You also for those times when I don't hear from You. Thank You for teaching taught me to press on even in times of silence. I trust that You are pleased and that people are receiving fresh hope from this journey. Thank You for allowing me to be the person You created me to be ¾ different like you are ¾ but loveable.

Hope you were encouraged.
Please come back often.
