"Stop putting your trust in mere humans. They are as frail as breath. How can
they be of help to anyone?"
Isaiah 2:22
Is this a word for you today? Have you placed your trust in someone that has hurt you? Most likely you have. Well, there is hope. God wants you to trust Him!
As a nation we have rallied and expressed our support for President Bush, and that is a good thing. However, I truly believe that we don't trust this President to "deliver" us. I believe that we do trust this President to hear from God Almighty and do what He believes God wants him to do ¾ don't you?
What we sometimes forget is the truth that God is a jealous God! Although we pledge allegiance to the flag, we should do so simply as a reflected pledge to the God that founded this country and made it "one nation under God." Our only sincere allegiance needs to be to the Creator of the Universe, Yahweh, Jehovah, and our God!
Anytime we trust a human to bring us through something there is a good chance things will fail. That is not to say that from time to time when our faith is weak we can't look to a human to walk with us through our pain as God's representative. Sometimes our faith falters or is just too weak to trust. That is when God will send someone in our path to walk with us until our faith is again strong in Him!
When I am ministering to someone I don't trust my efforts ¾ I trust the Holy Spirit to give me insight and direct my thoughts. Anytime I trust to just give advice in the flesh there is an outside chance that I will direct them wrong! So, God is my guide.
So, if by some chance you are trusting in a human for happiness or strength ¾ take the time to get before your Father today and get things straight!
Lord, I know that from time to time I have trusted in man much more than I trusted in You. I thank You and praise You for the gift of the Holy Spirit that guides me into the truth and helps me recognize when I am doing that. I thank You for Your forgiveness and mercy! Help me press on!
