"To whom will you compare me? Who is my equal?" asks the Holy One.
Look
up into the heavens. Who created all the stars? He brings them out one after
another, calling each by its name. And he counts them to see that none are lost
or have strayed away.
O Israel, how can you say the Lord does not see your
troubles? How can you say God refuses to hear your case? Have you never heard or
understood? Don't you know that the Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of
all the earth? He never grows faint or weary. No one can measure the depths of
his understanding. He gives power to those who are tired and worn out; he offers
strength to the weak. Even youths will become exhausted, and young men will give
up. But those who wait on the Lord will find new strength. They will fly high on
wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not
faint."
Isaiah 40:25-31
As I write, the praise song Shout to the Lord completely fills me; nothing compares to our Jesus! He is the Holy One! From "In the beginning" to "The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you all," God's Word points to Jesus Christ, our Redeemer and Friend through the inspiration of God the Father, and the encompassing power of the Holy Spirit! We just can't have one without the other!
If the Creator of the Universe is interested enough in the stars to call each of them by name and is constantly making sure that none are lost or strayed away, what does that say about how He feels about us? I don't know about you, but that makes me want to hang my head in shame because of the many times I have doubted Him; losing my strength in the process.
Just thinking about Him sending an eagle to lift me up on eagles' wings makes me start singing Nicole C. Mullins' song, I Know My Redeemer Lives, and I begin soaring into praise of my Father! He is totally worthy of praise. He wants us to be like the eagle who sheds his/her feathers in old age, receives new feathers, and continues to fly high for God!
In His Kingdom age has no factor; everything is based on submission and willingness to be changed from glory to glory! Let's fly folks!
Oh, Lord, I know there is much work left to be done before Jesus returns for His bride. Help us Father, to shed the old and receive the new, and fly like an eagle!
