So the Word became human and lived here on earth among us. He was full of
unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the
only Son of the Father…
And I suppose that if all the other things Jesus did
were written down, the whole world could not contain the books.
John 1:14,
21:25
Yes, the Word did become flesh. God came in the person of Jesus Christ to reveal to us His heart. His life is recorded for us, at least parts of His life are recorded for us. As John says, if everything Jesus said and did were recorded the whole world could not contain the books.
Is there something you wonder about that Jesus did or didn't do? Well, I'm sure whatever it is falls into the category John describes. I'm sure that Jesus addressed people having family problems, it just didn't seem relevant to His followers to write it down. Maybe God knew that we would take that too literally also. So, He left out things that we might misunderstand.
The simple fact that He lived and died to buy my pardon should propel me into the plan He has for my life. I shouldn't worry about what wasn't recorded, but pay very close attention to what was. Good advice. I think I'll take it!
Cast off the cares from this past year and look forward to a new year of freedom in Him! The joys to come will be eternal!
Father, we cast off the cares of this past year. We reject every rejection we have encountered. We set before us the goal to live as You want us to live; in love. We praise You for planting love in us and for watering that love with Your mercy and grace. Father, thank You so much for leaving us with a few mysteries. Thank You for leaving room for faith to fill. Thank You for loving us enough to send us a living example of Who You Are! Now, help us live the life You've called us to live. Help us live in love.
