As for God, his way is perfect.
All the Lord's promises prove true.
He is a shield for all who look to him for protection.
For who is God
except the Lord?
Who but our God is a solid rock?
God arms me with
strength;
he has made my way safe.
He makes me as surefooted as a deer,
leading me safely along the mountain heights.
He prepares me for battle;
he strengthens me to draw a bow of bronze.
You have given me the shield
of your salvation.
Your right hand supports me;
your gentleness has made
me great.
You have made a wide path for my feet
to keep them from
slipping.
Psalm 18:30-36
God's ways are perfect; we cannot begin to know everything about Him because we are so imperfect. Yet, He wants us to know Him. He promises that if we will seek Him with all our heart He will make Himself known to us. He even keeps His promises.
How many times have you promised someone something and then backed down from that promise or vice versa? Too many times to count – huh? Well, God never backs down on His promises unless we back away from Him, and then there are promises that happen then too, but we won't go there now.
He promises that He will protect us and prepare us for battle. Today your battle may be not to spend too much money shopping, having the presence of mind to put on sunscreen at your child's ballgame, or your battle may be more serious. It doesn't matter what the battle, God is our shield and our defense.
Have a great Sunday. Let His right hand support you in all that you do. He promises He will and I believe those promises!
Father, I am thankful that You don't limit Yourself to just be with us when we are worshiping You, but that You are with us even when we do the little things in life. Help us get everything done this day so that after we come to Your house and worship You with all we have and with all we are we are free to go about doing all the other things we need to do with our families!
