An Expected End
Jeremiah
29:11-14 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD,
thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then
you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And
you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
I will be found by you, says the LORD, and I will ring you back from your
captivity; I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places
where I have driven you, says the LORD, and I will bring you to the place
from which I cause you to be carried away captive.
God's word is true, and there will come a day, in due time
that the expected end will come to pass. God's word is valuable because He
is good to keep His promises. We are in a process of going through the
refining fire, and the end result is victory. God has not
called His children out of this world to shame us, but to bring us to
an expected hoped for end. The hardships that we face in this life
are only for a season, at the end of each trial we face is a triumph
for those who will endure to the end. We often think we know
what we need or want, but God is never uncertain of what we are in need
of. I can picture God bidding His time waiting for us to come to the right
conclusion of what we're really hungering and thirsting for. How easy it
is to come to the conclusion that God's purposes are against us,
we’re often just like the small child pouting because they didn’t get
their way. We don’t understand sometimes that God says "no" to
protect us from harm, all we know is that we heard NO.
No matter what
circumstance we are going through we have to realize that all things are
indeed working together for the good of them that love God and are called
according to His purpose. And, that God is able to take those things that
Satan has intended for evil against us, turning it around and using
them for our good. Thank God that He doesn’t
give us what we fear or what in our fanciful minds we think we’ve just
"got" to have for survival. But when we come to Him in faith because He
has spoken to us a promise, He will give us that expected end. When God
gives us vision (hope for a future) we suddenly are able to pray in a
manner that is full of faith. We are able to believe God for things that
seem impossible to others, because by faith we know they’re possible
because God is able to perform those things He commits to us thru His
word. He doesn’t do these things because we’re especially deserving; He
does them because He loves us. What a wonderful merciful God we serve.
There are times when we
pray and we feel like our prayers went over like a lead balloon. It's
because it's so easy to get caught up in vain prayers. The Bible tells us
that if it's possible even the very elect will be deceived. I’ve been
deceived before, I’ve said and done things that later, after I’d come to
my "right mind," I was totally ashamed of. Again, I thank You
Lord for Your mercy and grace. How I praise You O LORD for this hope that
rises up in my soul, that You are faithful and true, that You will
never leave me or forsake me (give up on me). That moment by
moment from faith to faith, glory to glory, I will see that You are
at work on my behalf. If You be for me who can be against
me!!! In His
Love Karen
